about

This song was a blast to write and record. The song was written with the daughter of a family friend for a creativity project at her high school. She asked me to help and this is the finished product. Hannah plays rhythm guitar and sings background vocals. My son, Nathan, also sings background vocals. He was about 10 at the time. I think it came out pretty well. (The model for the photo is my wife, Eliska, in Coonskin Park.)

lyrics

Well, I've been around,
Long enough to know.
That I was wrong,
To ever let you go.

Every hour, every day,
Remembering mistakes I've made.

CHORUS:
It's the loneliest day.
The loneliest night.
The loneliest day,
Without you by my side.

Well, I had a dream,
Where everything was right.
And nothing falls apart,
And you were by my side.

Then I opened up my eyes,
The familiar empty feeling inside.

CHORUS:
